The AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS
The AIA has been the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857.  With nearly 300 state and local chapters, the AIA serves as the voice of the architecture profession and the resource for our members in service to society. www.AIA.org

US Green Building Council
US GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. www.USGBC.org 

ZeroEnergy Design and its Principals are USGBC members. Jordan Goldman and Emile Chin-Dickey are LEED-Accredited Professionals. Adam Prince is a LEED for Homes Green Rater and a member of the USGBC Massachusetts Chapter. ZED is involved with multiple registered and certified LEED projects.


Passive House Institute US
PASSIVE HOUSE INSTITUTE US
The Passive House standard is a design methodology that champions a super insulated, airtight home or building that uses 70-90% less energy for heating than a conventional new home or building. This high performance standard is achieved through maximized passive solar gains, reduced heating loads, efficient ventilation of fresh air, and significant size and cost reduction of the heating system, which in some cases can be eliminated altogether. The Passive House Institute US describes it as "the most rigorous building energy standard in the world."  www.PassiveHouse.US 

ZeroEnergy Design's Stephanie Horowitz and Jordan Goldman are both certified Passive House Consultants. ZED is working on multiple Passive House projects in the Architecture practice and the HVAC Design practice. 


ENERGY STAR
ENERGY STAR
The Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR® Program, sponsored by your local electric and gas utilities and energy efficiency service providers, promotes the construction of homes that are built to achieve ENERGY STAR certification and/or incorporate other above code energy efficiency standards. www.ENERGYSTAR.gov 

ZeroEnergy Design is a Partner with the Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR Program. Jordan Goldman is a Certified HERS Rater. ZED desires ENERGY STAR certification for all homes designed by the firm, with a target performance level at least 50% better than required by building code.


National Green Building Program
NATIONAL GREEN BUILDING PROGRAM
NAHB's National Green Building Program offers builders, remodelers, developers, and other home building professionals a variety of services to learn, incorporate, and market green building.   www.NAHBGreen.org

INDOOR airPLUS
EPA created Indoor airPLUS and construction specifications to help meet the growing consumer preference for homes with improved indoor air quality. Construction specifications include the careful selection of and installation of moisture control systems; heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems; combustion-venting systems; radon resistant construction; and low-emitting building materials. www.epa.gov/indoorairplus
